Giovanna
Paladino is the chief of the Macroeconomic Research Unit
at the SanPaolo IMI Research Department. She is a faculty member
of the economics department at LUISS University -Rome (1998- now).
She did her undergraduate studies in Rome and moved to the HEI (Geneva-CH)
and Brown University (USA) to complete her graduate studies in economics.
She was intern as young economist at the IMF, Jean Monnet fellow
at the European University Institute in 1995-1996. Her main field
of interest is international economics. In particular she has worked
and published several articles on exchange rate crises, interest
rate term structure, foreign debt sustainability and volatility
spillover in financial markets.
Among the most recent publications 'Volatility linkages across
three major equity markets: a financial arbitrage approach'
in Journal of International Money and Finance (2005,
forthcoming) and 'The impact of the Argentine default ob volatility
co movements in emerging bond markets' in Emerging
